Sometimes, dating can be seriously fun. After all, who doesn’t want to go out for nice meals and meet new people. Then there are the other times… When you’re on an awkward date, all you really want is for the floor to open up and swallow you. It’s truly an awful experience, but you’re not alone. Here are some really bad date stories.
1. When she brings her kids along
Date brought along her daughter as a surprise. Daughter asked if I was going to be her daddy. Just a bit too much for a first date.
When it comes down to it, dating someone with kids is a massive commitment. If they bring their baby on the first date, it really kills the mood.
2. When you didn’t know it was a date
Thought we were just hanging out when I go “So what should we do now?” and he goes “How about we make out?” Whaaaaaaat.
There is nothing more awkward than one person thinking it’s a date and the other having no idea. Before you head out, make sure you’re on the same page!
3. When you didn’t know it was a date (part II)
Didn’t even realise it was a date until he leaned in to kiss me and I turned my head away. We were studying in the library for God’s sake!
First of all, the library is not the best place to have a date. People are trying to seriously study there! Plus, you need to let the other person know that this is a date or they might get confused.

4. When you make an utter fool of yourself
When I picked up my date, I walked her to my car. When I pulled out my keys to disarm my car, I accidentally set off the car alarm. That was the second time I ever did that, and was the most embarrassing thing I ever did on a first date.
The awkward thing about dating is that you’re always trying to impress the other person. When you’re uptight and worried, though, you can often make stupid mistakes.
5. When you scare her half to death
We went to the circus and made her take a picture with one of the clowns, she told me she had a deathly fear of clowns afterwards…
Well, how are you supposed to know what scares them, eh? This one just sounds like an unfortunate tale. Poor guy!
6. When you spill stuff on her
I accidentally split her drink all over the table and her… I’m left handed and sitting next to a right handed person never ends well.
Nerves can often get the best of people. Here’s a hint – spilling your drink all over your date is never a great way to kick things off.

7. When you end up in hospital
We went ice skating. I fell and split the bridge of my nose open. Luckily she was a cool chick and waited with me in the ER.
Falling over and smashing up your face is not the best way to start off a date. When you plan a first date, try to avoid anything too dangerous.
8. When you make her pay
Cool chick wanted to split the check with me. I kept insisting on paying for dinner and she eventually agreed to let me pay but when I gave the waiter my card they said their ATM was broken and we had to pay in cash. I didn’t have any cash but my date did.
It’s always hard to decide who will pay the bill at the end of the date, but this is seriously awkward. When you say you’ll pay, you’d better have cash on you!
9. When you’re only eleven
Went with her family to Dairy Queen when I was eleven. Didn’t say one word to her the entire time.
Dating when you’re an actual child never works out well. Remember, you don’t need to start out all that early. This is just so bad!
10. When she throws a mega fit
I was in 8th grade and i took her to the carnival that was in town, thought I’d be fun. Less than 30 minute into the date she throws a huge fit because I waved at a friend and then left me to go confide in her ex bf. Then kept the fit on the ride home in front of my parents. It’s safe to say there was no second date.
It’s never a good sign if your date throws a fit when you’re out together. There’s a sure fire sign that this relationship is not going to work out. Run away. Run away while you still can!
